I guess with school starting earlier and earlier, pretty soon they'll start the season at the end of July.

Probably.

Schools up here, this county anyway, have already been back in session for close to a month.

Playing football in mid-August in Middle and South GA would just be insane. The poor kids would drop like flies. It's already bad enough in late August watching the games turn into cramp fests.

I was over at my friends house, he had some HS football show on mtv. It was about Hoover High School in BHam, showed their game a gainst Nease (Florida, Tim Tebow was QB'ing that game). It was like mid day, 120 degrees. It was nuts.

I saw that too. I was thinking "What a dumb thing for MTV to have on" then I heard the name Tebow and realized who it was and watched the entire show.

Keep telling yourself you're scouting.

I watched the game unfold and thought it was pretty interesting to watch . . . then came the end when it turned into a Soap Opera with that dopey guy and his girlfriend mad at him and I'm thinking "Where did my half hour just go?"

There's a big write-up about Hoover High in this weeks SI as well as part of their High School Football Preview article. Pretty cool how most of the top teams from around the country find a way to play each other during the season.

I'll be there. Maryville and Alcoa should be a great game this year.

Maryville had less talent last year but just out coached Alcoa. I doubt if the onside kick to start the game will catch Alcoa off guard this year. It was 21 - 0 before Alcoa knew what hit them. This may be the year that Maryville goes down to Alcoa. Maryville suspended its best RB for the game. Go Rebels!
