Baker, I dunno if you get Fox Soccer is not, but RSL got jobbed by Central American dodginess. The pitch was utter crap, Beckerman slipped on D then Rimando got beat on a slow goal from outside the box.

Then Nat Borchers got a red on a tackle that should barely have warranted a yellow. It was pretty much over at that point.

Missed it. Don't get Fox SC. CONCACAF has not been our friend. The only time we didn't bow out early we got to the finals and lost in a heartbreaker.

I think we were playingat Cruz Azul once, and had like a 3-1 lead with like 15 minutes left. It started raining so hard there were like 8 inch deep puddles, I **** you not. Cruz Azul had some sort of mastery of those conditions and scored 3 goals in like 9 minutes. CONCACAF has mostly been disastrous for us. We would have been the first MLS team to win in Mexico.

I'm not worried about RSL yet. They'll probably wake TFU

Their pitch seriously looked like Wimbledon at the Olympics.

Wow. I remember seeing that name on the Columbus 18 when they were here a few months back... Very sad.

Always awkward to transition to sports after that, but the Timbers are on national tv tonight, NBCSN at 7EST playing FC Dallas.

Timbers trade GK's - Troy Perkins goes to Montreal for Donovan Ricketts

My god. I have no idea what is up with this front office. Perk has been a complete fan favorite and GK is one of the few positions that has played well this season with consistency. Ricketts is good, but not a $50k hit in cap room better.

I'm sad and disappointed...

So Montreal opted to pay the difference in Ricketts' salary.

What actually happened was that we had a team in the midst of a playoff hunt pay us to take their keeper off their hands and get ours.

Cherry on top: The remaining road schedule is Toronto, New York, Colorado, San Jose, Salt Lake, Seattle and Vancouver in that order.

If we can manage to get shut out in Toronto and New York, which is easily possible, then we will be well on the way to a new MLS record of scoring two road goals in a whole season.

All the while the GM is just getting started on completely overhauling the team exactly as he wants it.

I honestly don't get it. The owner seems like a bright guy, and I feel like the Timbers owe it to MLS to pair one of the best and most unique supporer cultures not only in MLS but in all of American sports with a team that's actually competitive.

Instead the best teams are almost all clubs that get soccer moms and kids out to the park on weeknights with free bobbleheads, and they are all indistinguishable from minor league baseball teams except for the actual sport being played.

Ronaldo eyes American future | Real Madrid Football News, Fixtures, Results, Table | Sky Sports

Could follow Beckham's path at some point, though I wonder what that would look like. Beckham relied more on his set piece skill than Ronaldo does, and that's one of the few things that doesn't always deteriorte with age
