Shaq on the controversial timeout

Duh, Uh I thought they were out of timeouts. Duh, uh then I realized they were out after they called that one.

I thought they were in trouble on that last possession. Wade took the ball so far in the backcourt. Then he was double teamed and I didn't think he could get around both of those guys.

Why should Shaq be aware of how many timeouts the other team has?

I don't think it was Josh Howard's fault. Avery Johnson clearly signalled emphatically that he wanted a timeout called, he just wasn't clear at first that he wanted it called after the 2nd free throw in order to advance the ball. In the scheme of things, it probably didn't matter. It was going to be a desperation shot either way, just from closer range.

He shouldn't so why would he be carrying on to his coach that they were out of timeouts. I just think he is clueless all the way around.

I don't know. They had, what, 1.9 seconds? That's plenty of time to get a good shot if they would have been able to advance the ball with a timeout.

I didn't realize they had quite that much time left. You're right, that's plenty of time to do a lot of things.

avery johnson's comments after the game were hilarious.. a media person asked what he thought about that last foul call and he was like "well what did you think about it, sir? did you think it was a foul?" he got madddd.. and dirk kicked a ball into the crowd and got fined 5000 bucks, love it
