NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police on Wednesday were seeking to question Tennessee cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones about what he saw during a fight at a gas station parking lot that included gunfire.

At least 12 or more men had gathered at the gas station near downtown Nashville Tuesday night when a fight broke out, and shots were fired. No one was reported hurt.

The incident was filmed by a surveillance camera, and Jones, the Titans' top draft pick last season, was identified as being in the crowd.

"He is a witness in a case, a very serious case where shots were fired in a public area," police detective Jason Proctor. "The right thing to do is for him to come in and tell us what he saw and help us determine who was out here firing these reckless rounds."

Officers went to Jones' home Wednesday morning and were told that he was asleep.

This is the second time Jones' name has come up as part of a police investigation in the past week.

Police unveiled a 2004 Cadillac XLT with "PAC-MAN" embroidered in the front seats last week as part of a drug seizure of more than 1,653 pounds of marijuana and 128 pounds of cocaine bricks.

His attorney told police Jones did not own the car, but the cornerback told a local TV station he had lent the car to a man police described as the main target of the investigation for use in a music video.

In March, a judge dropped charges of misdemeanor assault and a felony count of vandalism against Jones over a nightclub altercation last July.

When finally reached for comment, Pacman plead the 5th by loudly saying, "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

Seems like the Gators could use some lessons from your players on thuggery. We've got AK-47's, sure, but we can't figure out how to get that pin out to make them fully automatic. Think maybe your guys could come on down to Gainesville and put on a little symposium for us?

What a waste of time.Shots are fired nearly every night in the Napier Public Housing two miles from downtown Nashville, Wharf Lane. Why don't they spend more time over there instead of helping the Tennessean sell newspapers. For my money, I'm more interested in the Nashville judge that had a dui. Will he lose his license for a year? Will he do community service?Where's that story?

I think the story is that a player says he "lent" his souped up caddy to a guy and then the caddy shows up with a bunch of drugs and $ in it. The implication in the story is clear (or rather the question): Whose drugs were they?

Between the basketball players and this, I am wondering if UT is going to open a School of Pharmacology in Colombia.

If one is going to somehow impute the actions of a former West Virginia player in Nashville to UT, does that mean we can impute the conduct of Cecil Collins or Randy McMichael in Miami to UF?

A man in the "law" game should get his facts straight before presenting his case, Pacman Jones has nothing to do with UT.

In fact, since many of the 9/11 hijackers lived and attended flight school in Florida, will your fine institution be opening the Osama Bin Laden School of Terrorism in time for the Fall Semester?

Ohhhhhhh, he's a Tennessee Titan, not a Vol. I see. Totally my error there.

Did not mean to impugn reputation of UT based on that as he didn't go there. The article misled me a little, but my fault for not understanding the "Tennessee" reference.

My apologies.

I see your point about the drugs. But if he's not with the car? So if someone borrows your car and does the same thing are you guilty.I thought possession was 95%?The neighborhood I referred to was where a couple stopped for directions off the interstate a while back and were robbed and murdered. When the article mentioned gun shot five different times, I focused on that part of the story.By the way, some cities in Florida, please, check out the neighborhood crime rates.

Florida is a varied as you can get. In Palm Beach County, you have the island of Palm Beach. Per capita among the wealthiest places in the world. The Post family, Trump, the Kennedy compound, it goes on and on. Mansions galore. Hotels there this time of year start at 750 a night. The property tax bill on half the homes would pay off most ouf our mortgages and leave some left over.

But on the west side of the County is Belle Glade. Migrant farm workers and crime like Chicago in the 20's, rampant and public.

The northern part of the state is dominated by true "southerners," flying the stars and bars. South Florida is all progressive liberals down from the Northeast and Cubans. The further south you go in Florida, the further north it feels.

Wacky state ot live in!!!
