| If they can get Matt Carle and resign Weber, this actually isn't that devastating of a loss. |

| Carle signed with the Lightning tonight. I could see a trade in the Preds near future giving up a defensive prospect. There isn't much left in free agency, but we could get a pretty good return on some of our prospects. |

| Losing Suter sucks but it isn't suprising - I'm not sure I'd have been too thrilled with a 13 year deal... Lock up Weber, add some speed on the wing. I have faith in Poile, I think he does a great job. |

| I'm hoping if we deal it involves Blum. That would keep our best two young dmen here and we'd still have Ekholm on the farm. I also hope they don't trade away Wilson, although he'd have alot of value. I like what he can do, if he can just stay out of the dog house. All is not lost for the Preds. I think if we can bring in a vet on D and maybe a winger we can be pretty close to last years team. |

Also they need to keep Josi and Ellis whatever happens with Weber |

We have to match. If after this year we are terrible and/or he still wants out, then trade Weber for a nice package of players + picks.

| If Poile lets both Suter and Weber go without getting any experienced players in return he ought to be run out on a rail. He would be the ultimate GM fail. The only thing he would get if they don't match the offer sheet is 4 1st round picks in the latter part of the round.
They're in a bad spot because they put themselves in a bad spot. Cooper, the beat writer for the Preds, said taking Weber to arbitration last year has come back to bite them in the butt. Sounds like it didn't make Suter or Weber happy. If they're both gone, they'll lose a ton of their fanbase. |

| Preds have absolutely got to match.
He is your captain, the face of the franchise, and your strongest marketing tool as an organization and your best player.
You have no choice. If and a huge if, you let him walk...You get what you deserve. A half filled arena and a pissed off fanbase. |

| seems to me Philly just made it easier for the preds to resign him. If the preds match then hes signed for the long haul. You'll have the best defensive player in the nhl for his whole career |
