| The powerful pitching staff of team USA makes them a clear favorite in the Classic over the Dominican lineup. |

yeah you got a point im surprized so many people are saying dominican over and over again, I like Johnny Damon leading off and I think with stupid A-ROD we might have a chance plus with two braves (Jeff Francouer and Chipper Jones) the USA team should battle with the Dominican but not lose tho them.

| The Dominican Republic will put up about 15 runs in every game. No one is gonna stop them.
My only hope for the WBC is that Albert Pujols doesn't get hurt.

| Willis is pretty inconsistent... Clemens will be tough, but a lineup with Pujols, Vladimir, Ramirez, Tejeda, and whoever else I'm forgetting? Wow.

Baseball fans will get a chance to root for their country and find out which country can field the best team. I would love to see A-Rod hitt a walk off against the Dominican in the championship game. This tournement should provide a lot of great pitcher hitter matchups, especially if the USA faces the Dominican Republic. |

My only hope for the WBC is that Albert Pujols doesn't get hurt. | The Dominican lineup is the strongest, but dont underestimate America's lineup. Jeter, A-Rod, Derek Lee, Teixeira, Damon, and Varitkek is a lineup that can definately put up some runs. Also look for Griffey to have a breakout tournament, but then again he might just always pull a hammy and be done for the year. |

I think America's pitching staff will give them the edge. You always take great pitching over great hitting. Look what the White sox did to the Red Sox and Angles in the playoffs |

| If there weren't any pitch count limits, I'd take Pedro Martinez and Johan Santana (I think he's from the DR) over anything America has to offer right now as for pitchers.
I dunno why Roy Halladay didn't make the roster for the US.
The Dominican might give up a lot of runs as well, but no way anyone will outscore them.
Did they finally let Cuba in this thing? Who knows what they'll have.
