After four years they're back!
1) Basketball should be played in the winter olympics not the summer. I know this conflicts with the pro and college seasons but heck it's only two weeks. Get retired players (?MJ), high schoolers, Harlem Globtrotters whoever but play in the BB season.
2) I generally root for the guys from the small countries to win metals even against the USA. Our guys and gals are basically professional and get paid, whereas some of the small countries have to struggle to compete. The best stories come from these underdogs like the Jamacian bobsled team and remember Eddie the Eagle on the ski jump?
3) Most of the events are just boring....... Curling anyone?
4) My wife loves the figure skating. Usually during the finals, while Dick button is describing every jump in his effeminant voice, like it's the start of WWIII, the 'star' falls on her butt. I miss Tonya Harding.

Well since I'm a sports nut I guess I'll have to watch some of it even hockey, though it's basically boring. Anybody out there getting excited about the Olympics???

Just like I thought not much excitement for the Winter Olympics. I bet the TV ratings will stink.

I like that short track speed skating; especially the team events. Kind of reminds me of roller derby on ice.

I normally don't care for either Olympics, but I'm gonna watch that Bode Miller guy this year. Don't even know what he does, some kind of skiing? Nonetheless, he's generated some interest.

What are the chances that Weir chick wins the gold in women's figure skating? They're talkin' her up like the next big thing in professional figure skating...

It would be a great story if Nancy Kwan would win the gold, her third try and all.

I would've said something, but I didn't want it to look like I knew anything about figure skating...
