ok now the word ballhog has to really come into play here. The guy hit 81 points, well I am not that all shocked but that is alot of points for one man to score. I know Wilt scored 100 points but that was against lesser talent, meaning there is much more talent across the board in The NBA now.

lets see as being a kobe supporter (as you can tell) I would argue with you but you know you watch the game tracker and not the game so you wouldnt know he had hit 12 shots in a row, 5 3's and no one else was scoring at the point and time. he tried not to shoot in the first half and his team was down 18. He took it into his own hands and really one the game by himself. Kobe well never be able to satisfy some people but who knows... maybe one day.....

When you take half of your teams shots and you still don't blow out the raptors, it shows the level of talent for the rest of the team. But come on, dude scored 81...now i don't like kobe at all, but that is very respectable.

I like Kobe but I still think it was stupid to trade Shaq & I will always like him better. The rest of the team sucks & he is scoring all the points just like he wanted. Congrats to Kobe on the game. Keep it up son

When I played high school b-ball we had a special position player for guys like Kobe', the "goon". The goon was that guy who played in practice but rarely saw game time action. the coach would send him in there whenever some hotdog made a couple of 3 pointers on back-to-back trips up the court with strict instructions to "slap the sh** out of that guy if he touches the ball". I really do not like basketball anymore for various reasons, but I have to think that if teams still kept a goon on the bench it would dramitically change the way the game is played.

Of course no one was hitting at the time...they didn't have a chance too! I think Kobe is probably the most talented player i the league and I agree he doesn't have much help outside of Odom, but great players are suppose to make everyone around them better. I'm not sure how you can make anyone better when you score 81 and have been averaging like 50 ppg the past month or so.

Exactly... Kobe has exactly what he wanted - no one around him worth a crap.

With that said, no doubt he's the best player in the game.

Luckily for you, people like John Chaney are still allowed to coach.

The Lakers were down 18 when Kobe started his shooting spree. Its hard to believe that after one of the greatest performances in NBA history,he's getting crap about it.I'm not a big Kobe fan but what he did was awesome.

I agree - I can't believe he's getting slammed for scoring 81 - that's freakin' amazing. Was Jordan getting trashed for dumping 60-something on the Celtics?

My ruminations should probably be considered more of a slam on the Raptors than on Kobe. All I know is that the regular hoop players at the downtown YMCA in Nashville would not let anyone score 80 points on them. They'd go 5 on 1 before they let it happen.

Amazing performance, but this just shows that Kobe either forgot how to pass, or just decided he would play 5 on 1.

Allen Iverson is just going to have toput up 120 now I guess.
