Do you guys have any thoughts on the Marcus Vick situation? I think enough is enough, and I think Tech should kick him off the team(like they will, because Micheal Vick will just give the University money like he did last time Marcus got in trouble).

I am not sure of the situation. Leg stomper? Sounds kind of weird.

Wouldn't want him on my team (see also Va Tech/Miami game).

Sounds to me like the whole Va Tech team had issues in the first half . . . 5 personal fouls.

I just read an article from the Big 12 referee who did the game and he said that Va Tech was the worst behaved team he had ever seen.

The thing that drives me crazy is that Frank Beamer defended him, saying that he didn't see Marcus step on that boy's leg.Of course, Marcus says that it was just an accident, and he also said, quote "football is football". Whatever.I HATE TECH!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Surprised he didn't go to Miami. This kind of behaviour doesn't even make press there. They dismiss a schuffle on the way back to the locker room. No big deal for the Canes.

Vick was accused of going 38 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone.
I know this guy has a history, but come on . . . why is this even making the paper?

I think it's the driving on the suspended license thing. In Virginia, that's a felony now.

Marcus Vick Arrested, Future as Hokie Unsure

By Mark Schlabach
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, January 6, 2006; 2:33 PM

Quarterback Marcus Vick, whose future at Virginia Tech seems in jeopardy for his on-field actions during the Jan. 2 Gator Bowl, also is facing new off-field problems.

Vick, the younger brother of former Tech All-American and current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, was arrested Dec. 17 in Hampton, Va., and charged with misdemeanor driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license, according to the Virginia Judicial Systems Web site.

The charge was not reported on the state's Web site until yesterday.

Vick, who led the Hokies to a 11-2 record in his first season as a starter, already is under intense criticism for stomping on the leg of Louisville All-American defensive end Elvis Dumervil during Virginia Tech's 35-24 victory on Monday.

Hokies Coach Frank Beamer was scheduled to meet today with Vick and his mother in Suffolk, Va., to discuss his future with the Hokies. According to Virginia Tech sources, Vick would be suspended for at least the Hokies' 2006 opener if he returns to the team.

Vick, 21, missed all of the 2004 season while serving a school-imposed suspension following two separate incidents in which he was charged with crimes while enrolled at Virginia Tech.

In September 2004, Vick pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for giving alcohol to underage girls. In July 2005, Vick was arrested for speeding, and police found marijuana in his car. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving and no contest to possession of marijuana.

Cpl. James West, public information officer for the Hampton Police Department, said Vick was cited Dec. 17 for two violations -- speeding and driving on a suspended driver's license. West said Vick wasn't taken into custody and was issued two summons to appear in Hampton General District Court on Jan. 17.

When the school announced Vick's semester-long suspension last year, Virginia Tech President Charles M. Steger said if Vick faced additional off-field troubles, "his Virginia Tech career is effectively ended."

Virginia Tech has called an 11 a.m. news conference Saturday to address the incident at the Gator Bowl involving Vick. The school said University President Charles Steger, Director of Athletics Jim Weaver and Beamer will take part in the news conference.
