NEW YORK (AP) -- The U.S. government is keeping Cuba out of the inaugural World Baseball Classic, citing the standing embargo against the communist island nation.

Man, I was hoping to swipe a couple of good cigars from Castro too.

Ain't that way it goes though!

The World Baseball Classic presented by America.

They should go ahead and ban the Dominican Republic team too, if they want to win anyway.

I'm sure it is, likely all politics, but that's what it looks like.

I seem to remember the Cuba baseball team winning the gold medal in Atlanta in 1996, and I'm pretty sure a MLB team, the Orioles if I'm not mistaken, played an exhibition game in Cuba a few years ago.

Tejada, Ramirez, Ortiz, Pujols, Guerrero, and Soriano in one line-up... that's just wrong.
