Official Doubts Bigfoot in ND
(AP) -- State paleontologist John Hoganson says he doubts Bigfoot is running around North Dakota.
Residents on the Fort Berthold reservation have reported sighting a strange creature they think might be Bigfoot.
It's even attracted the attention of a group called the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization. One of its members, Kelly Berdahl of Bozeman, Montana, says he hopes to talk to Fort Berthold residents about their reports and visit the state.
Hoganson says it's pretty unlikely that North Dakota has any big, unknown creatures. He says residents know the animals in their state.
But Hoganson says many cultures have stories of Bigfoot or other animals going back many years.
He says he was invited to an expedition in the Congo a few years ago, to try to find a living dinosaur. He says he declined the invitation, though it sounded interesting.
