According to Rucker, one of the reasons for Dooley's rough season is that Tennessee has played the 2nd toughest schedule in college football.

Strength of Schedule: 2012 Mid-Season Review

According to fbschedules.com Tennessee was not in the top 10 of any of their rankings. Kentucky has by mid-season the toughest schedule this year. Along with them Florida, Arkansas, Auburn, Vanderbilt, and Missouri.

Let's just stop playing Bama and replace them with Ole Miss. Drop Oregon next year and any OOC game to be played in the future VS any team with a winning record. Move Vandy and UK to the 1st and 2nd SEC games each year on our schedule while moving UF and UGA to the end. All these things would give Dooley a chance to have us 6-6 each year and in a bowl.

No way we've had the 2nd toughest. Yeah we've played 5 teams with 2 losses or less but we've also played a 1 win FCS team, a 1 win MAC team and an average ACC team. Those three team bring the average way down.

We could be Vandy and schedule on OOC series with UMass just so we look like a contender to people stupid enough. Part of being a coach at Tennessee is dealing with the schedule Tennessee gets and has gotten for some time. Steel sharpens steel and this schedule isn't an excuse for why Dooley should keep his job. The best coaches beat the best teams with less talent until they can get talent to their university. Dooley's done a pretty good job in recruiting but he seemed to ignore some key areas and it's cost him big time

When you are comparing Saban's record at MS to Dooley's you are comparing Tennessee to Michigan State and that is a disgrace. MS has never been and never will be comparable to UT.

So our 5 losses have come from teams currently in the top 15 in the BCS (4 of which are in the top 10) and you don't think we have one of the toughest schedules?

You guys will literally say anything to slam this team and staff.

Why do people get so mad at just when people say we have had such a tough schedule?

Still shoulda, coulda, woulda beaten ga, ms st, and sc. Doesn't changethat we lost and it's not an excuse about the schedule. Just a fact.
