We do recruit there.... but so does, NC, NC state, SC, Clemson and Irish.. NC is a good state for prospects but not as rich in talent as Ga or Fla or Texas.

We also recruit SC but not with a lot of success...I think USCjr and Clemson hurts us there

Your Avatar is hilarious! Hopefully the dog will be able to take his mask off soon.

sc has more talent than nc - not sure we want to follow notre dame in recruiting - not exactly the old notre dame over the last 20 years

Pretty sure he has only one son and he's 10 or so. Best part is his first name in Navy, and his sister's is Island.

This staff has few ties to NC. Don't expect to get many NC kids in the future with these guys. Clemson, FSU, UGA and Florida have much better ties there and have established strong ties the past 10 years.

That's not a bad thing, because we have more ties to Texas, Louisiana and Georgia now, which have better prospects. Autry is originally from NC, if we get him he will be our first NC recruit in quite some time. Our last one was EJ Abrahms Ward and we all know what happened to him.

Not saying we will get him but Daniel McCullers is originally from NC as well.

Shawn Bryson? Carl Pickens? Leonard Little?

OJ Owens? Brent Gibson? Tyrone Graham? Trey Peterson? Fair share of busts.

Leonard Little originally from Asheville, but we recruited him via juco.

North Carolina is basketball country....football is not as big as SC or GA.

There's a wide talent gap from the 5 star recruits to the 3 stars in NC.

This thread came up a few weeks ago. It's the same thing again guys. I think some people just get bored and dream that North Carolina recruits are the missing piece of the puzzle and are going to lead us to huge things again. Pickens was 20 plus years ago, Little was 14 years ago. North Carolina has given us very little recently.

We don't have much success recruiting that state anymore, bottomline. Hardesty did come up big for us but it took four or five years until his big Sr. year. EJ Abrahms Ward didn't even step on the field as well as another big time Dline recruit a few years ago. Crompton and CJ Leak's performance and development here didn't really help us. UGA, Clemson and UF have serious connections in the Charlotte area, where the majority of D1 talent in NC comes from.

I'd much rather have connections in TX, LA and Georgia where the high school football is a lot better and there are more D1 prospects on an annual basis.

I suspect we will get more exposure in North Carolina next year after we curb stomp NC State in ATL.
