The Official 2018 FIFA World Cup Thread

FIFA's problem stems from efforts to democratize by giving member nations equal votes. Western Europe was about to pull out before the last round of arrests and purges, if reports can be believed. These institutions lend themselves to graft as many representatives of third world countries are more than happy to sell their votes.

Sterling had a bad tournament in my opinion.

He’s an easy target but to be honest Harry Kane was an enormous disappointment outside of his opening goal against Tunisia. All his other goals were penalties and he missed at least 4 sitters (most of which were setup by sterling). Sterling should’ve had two goals but he also should’ve had 3-4 more assists if England made their easy chances.

Sterling is a playmaker and busts his butt playing both ways (unlike Rashford who was lazy and worthless this tournament).

Pretty terrible start to this game. The opening goal coming from FK from a Griezman dive... not what you want to see as a fan
