She specifically did not say they came right out of the hood. This is what she said:
This is not a statement about Michelle and Barry. This is a story about America's short history.
I would say your outrage is disingenuous at best. But, keep being mad at stupid **** like this. Ironic, how the anti-Obama crowd thinks it is so obviously clear that the policies that Obama is pushing and enacting are so terrible and abundant, yet this same crowd continually harps on bull**** minutiae.
The only thing I find wrong in her statement is her attempted portrayal of her and Barry as someone who grew up in poverty.
We don't know Barry's past. Hell, every family picture has been photo shopped along with his birth certificate. We don't have his college transcripts either,.....so who is this guy?
Isn't there prison time for not registering?
Penalties for Failure to Register for the Draft
Men who do not register could be prosecuted and, if convicted, fined up to $250,000 and/or serve up to five years in prison. In addition, men who fail to register with Selective Service before turning age 26, even if not prosecuted, will become ineligible for:
Student Financial Aid - including Pell Grants, College Work Study, Guaranteed Student/Plus Loans, and National Direct Student Loans.Obama claims he got a student loan.
U.S. Citizenship - if the man first arrived in the U.S. before his 26th birthday.
Federal Job Training - The Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) offers programs that can train young men for jobs in auto mechanics and other skills. This program is only open to those men who register with Selective Service.
Federal Jobs - men born after December 31, 1959 must be registered to be eligible for jobs in the Executive Branch of the Federal government and the U.S. Postal Service. Does Barry know how old he is?
Bad law or not it is the law. Unless you're the POTUS you cannot choose which laws you will abide by.
Really? Do you always abide by jaywalking laws? Speeding laws? Public container laws?
I would imagine that most citizens in the US break laws very frequently. Further, I would imagine that most citizens in the US who have received tickets for jaywalking or having a beer on UT's campus, probably think it is absolutely ridiculous they are being punished, even if they know what the law says.
Selective service registration is bad law, in every way, shape, and form. As a representative republic, the government ought never to be engaging in wars in which they cannot provide the manpower to carry out the war in a non-coercive manner.
