I've only been here 3.5 yrs and this is about the 3rd time I've seen my backyard completely flooded. I just expect to get hit once a yr but that's the fun of living so close to the water

Last time I was on here it wasn't a big deal. Then we lost power, phone?, TV!! and became an ever increasing smaller island.

The debate between my wife and I about buying a boat just tipped in my favor.

a coworker lives in Poquoson and owns a few kayaks for just this reason. He's flooded his house 3 years in a row

Surf always picks up when the winter rolls around.

But as to your original point, that type of thing isn't completely out of the ordinary but it usually doesn't happen this late in the year.
