I Need Computer Help...This Is A Tough One...

My computer gives me the following error message whenever I plug anything into any of the USB ports...

(USB Device not recognized, one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfuctioned, and windows does not recognize it.)


I have tried all the common fixes...unplugging the computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Ran all my anti virus scans. Has anyone ever head of this before? I contacted geeksquad online, and they said they could not fix the problem remotely.

if by "any" you mean the USB ports on the back of your computer (that are part of your motherboard's backplane, not a USB expansion card) then it's possible your motherboard is beginning to fail.

got any more details? computer model, OS and such?
