Ding Dong (meant like a doorbell, not calling you a Hostess name), the point still is that the contest is held in Memphis. Not that Memphis has the best bbq. If the football NC is held in Tempe..........does that make them the best football city? Nope, it means the supposed best teams are there. Where ever they may be from. This was my point. The best of the best, world wide, are in Memphis this weekend. Maybe you should try and pay a visit to see what it is all about. People that cook for their livelihood have gone their, and won. Now they are high on the proverbial hog.

The BBQ cook-off might be the only thing that keeps the rest of the TN from giving Memphis away to Arkansas or Mississippi

Well ding your own dong, I said the Memphis WINNERS That means the people who win the Memphis event to spell it out where anyone can understand. I am fully aware of what the event is about, I've wanted to attend it ever since I heard about it. Go pull some pork.

Speaking of Tri-Cities BBQ I always enjoyed, I think its, Partner's. They have some of the best BBQ Baked Beans I have ever had.

Agreed, they also make great fresh cut fries. The BBQ is close to Ridgewood, a little too sweet on the sauce. They are in Piney Flats.

Hmmm... I might have to check them out. Never heard of them. Right now, the best BBQ I've had in Knoxville metro is in Lenoir City at Leo's... Leo's would make you spit on Calhoun's or Buddy's BBQ.

Leo's is good as well. M&M is just a stand on the side of the road by the laundry mat near Bearden Middle.

I'll check them out, thanx. It beats the hell out of driving 25 miles to Lenoir City every weekend.

there are numerous places that would make me spit on buddy's bbq. Not a good comparison there.

Oh, I agree. But those restaurants keep popping up all over the place and people still pack themselves in their to get fed slop.

Buddy's is decent by fast food standards. It doesn't come close to the mom and pop joints or road side stands.

Doozer, I'm not sure if you've tried it or not, but Red Pig BBQ in Johnson City (and now a new restaurant in Jonesborough) is very good with quick, almost fast food type service. I'd take it every day over Buddy's. They also have good iced tea and what they call a twice baked potato.
