The best of the best, world wide, are in Memphis this weekend. Maybe you should try and pay a visit to see what it is all about. People that cook for their livelihood have gone their, and won. Now they are high on the proverbial hog.

The BBQ cook-off might be the only thing that keeps the rest of the TN from giving Memphis away to Arkansas or Mississippi

I am fully aware of what the event is about, I've wanted to attend it ever since I heard about it. Go pull some pork.

Leo's is good as well. M&M is just a stand on the side of the road by the laundry mat near Bearden Middle.

Buddy's is decent by fast food standards. It doesn't come close to the mom and pop joints or road side stands.

Doozer, I'm not sure if you've tried it or not, but Red Pig BBQ in Johnson City (and now a new restaurant in Jonesborough) is very good with quick, almost fast food type service. I'd take it every day over Buddy's. They also have good iced tea and what they call a twice baked potato.
