| So I'm at the Hard Rock Thursday night at a 1/3 table. I'm in the BB with about $200 in front of me.
Super tight lady makes it $20, she has about $150 left. One caller, he has the same. I look down to 4-5, off. Knowing she has a big pair and that this kind of hand can stack her, I call the extra $17.
Flop is 4-5-7, with two spades (I don't have a spade).
I check. Lady bets $35. Woot woot woot! My read is confirmed, and I am prepared to ship it.
But wait, what's this? The guy in the middle pops it to $105?
After a minute, I fold. The lady goes all in, he calls.
She has KK, he has 77.
I am a freakin' genius !!
(P.S., left broke three hours later). |

| For those of you within driving distance of Cherokee, NC, the EBCI and the Governor's Office have reached an agreement that will bring live table games/dealers to Harrah's Cherokee Casino. It still has to go through the General Assembly and then the Department of Interior has to sign off on it, but live tables should be up and running in the not too distant future.

| Well the 2nd Annual HWCC poker tournamnet starts tonight...
There's 17 of us for the first tournament. We'll have 6 of them and the winner of the fianl table will be sponsored to the WSOP in July of 2012... | |

| On the button, blinds are 100-200, UTG calls the 200, folds around to me, I assume UTG is just calling with nothing and I raise to 600 with JC 3C. fold, fold, UTG calls. flop 2C-5C-4S, I bet 600, call, turn 4C, I'm all-in, he calls, flips over 2-4o. WTF?!?!?! 2-4o???? No AC, no 6C on the river, I'm out. Sonofa......

| Played last weekend in a $2-$5 game. I have about $1200 or so in front of me, villain has me covered by $600. He's been running everyone over, including me, for awhile.
I am in BB with QQ and it straddled in front of me. Villain and one other player call the straddle and when it gets to me I make it $50 to go. Villain calls.
Flop is 9-9-7. Villain checks, I bet $100, he calls.
Turn is a beautiful Q. I bet $100, he calls.
River is a 7. I bet $200. He raises to $450, I shove, and he calls with the 9.
Ship the $2400 pot please !! | |

| Since there isn't really a general poker discussion thread that I can see, I'll ask here.
I'm going to Vegas for the first time this week for work. I've only played poker online and poker night with the guys. I've been to a casino twice, but no poker tables. Is there any poker table etiquette I should know? Do I just sit down with my chips and the dealer will deal me in?
I'll probably just creep around a poker table for a bit and observe for a second to get my bearings. I just don't want to be made a fool of.
Also, I'm a bit scared of no limit for my first time in Vegas. Are there going to be any pot limit tables? How low do the tables go in a big casino? Will they have any $0.50/$1 tables or anything in that range?
I'm a bit of a puss, and I'm nervous. | |

| Do they bring you free drinks at Vegas casinos if you're playing? The last casino I was in did, but I don't want to assume that's the case in all casinos.
Also, what is your general tipping practice for dealers? | |

| yea, $1 is the standard, probably. that's what I do.
dealers, I usually tip a $5 after good hands.
