| I really hate it when I say I went to UT and people ask me how I liked Texas. Damnit, my alma mater was handing out degrees before Texas was a state! Then they try to steal our name and copy (rather badly, I might add) our colors and power T. Shame, shame!

| I feel your pain. I live in the midst of a lot of the other UT people.

You chose to live near those hippies. People from College Station have morals now that Franchonie left.

| It's the way of the world. Univeristy of Tennessee was around first, but when you mention UT to the average person, Texas is what comes to mind. It's like this literally everywhere I've been except Tennessee.

| I have a good bit of Vol gear, hats, cloths, stickers, you name it. I love that shade of Orange that the Vols have (you know, kinda neon orange, but not really, but you cant duplicate easily) anyhow. Now keep in mind I live in Aggieland.
I hear at least twice a month, "How do you pull for the ags, and have a "t.u." sticker on your bumper and a Assc. of Former Students TAMU sticker on the back glass..
Its a whole other state you idiot!
It is funny that this is brought up by another Texas citizen. I find it difficult to explain how you can graduate from one school, but still be a fan of another. It is quite simple for me as they are in seperate confrences, but irrational homes are alive in well.

There are some schools like LSU, UGA, or even IU in which the abbreviation is customary, but I wouldn't say either school is nationally known as "UT". |
