| Calipari on Memphis--"This is Tennessee's Team" Earlier today I was listening to a local Tigers post game show on the radio here in Memphis, and Calipari was talking about all the support his team is getting. He went on to make a pretty bold claim that "this is Tennessee's team", in the same way that someone might say that the Dallas Cowboys are "America's team".
Man would I love to see that posted in the UT locker room bulletin board between now and Feb 23... |

| If you don't think he's trying to stoke the fires a little bit, you're insane. He can downplay recruiting and the success of UT all he wants, but truth is he can't stand it, and it's compounded by the fact that Bruce is the coach.

| I don't see why that's such a big deal. He probably gets tired of hearing about Vols this and Vols that all the time. I know he's a bit cocky but I resoect the guy and I'm glad he is coaching somewhere in Tennessee. If Tennessee can't win it all this year I hope they do. |

UT never even played Tiger High until the late 1980s. He's trying to manufacture a rivalry that only benefits his program, not ours. Knoxville is closer to Bloomington, Chapel Hill and Cincinnati than it is to Memphis. We don't have rivalries with the Hoosiers, Tar Heels and Bearcats, either. Maybe we can develop one with the Buckeyes, who are also closer than Tiger High. |

| You know, if the Vols played in a sorry conference like Memphis does...say, the OVC, for example, maybe our W-L record would be as good as theirs. |

Put together a C-USA all-star team from all the teams in that league except Memphis and they might win three of 10 from Tiger High. That's not good. |

| Anyone who actually listens to and believes what Cal says is gullible. He said last week on the local Memphis news that fans should not believe the undefeated hype as the Tigers will lose at least two league games......yada, yada, yada.
