Went To The Keith Urban Show Tonight

While one can certainly argue whether or not Keith Urban is a country artist(I say he most certainly isn't), there's no debate the guy is an immense talent. Anyone who thinks Brad Paisley is a big time guitar player should go to an Urban show. He's top shelf. Gary Allan wasn't a bad opening act, either.

The ladies all seem to feel that way. He certainly draws a large female crowd. I was afraid my date was going to stain my fine silk shirt with her drool.

Can Urban keep up with Vince Gill in the guitar playing category?

They play very different styles. Urban mixed in some AC/DC and Lynard Skynard riffs during the jam portion of the show. It would be very hard for me to say anyone actively performing today is any better than Vince Gill. Kind of an apples and oranges comparison.

I think that's Gary Allan's role on this tour.

I'm glad atleast a few of them can tear a guitar apart. Kenny Chesney's sweat comes from running from one side of the stage to the other.

I went to a Kenny Chesney show maybe 4 years ago, and Rascal Flatts was supposed to be the opener, but the singer must have had his period, and, thank goodness, Keith Urban was the fill in, as he was scheduled to play the casino that weekend, so he was in the area.

Hatvol is right, a real talent, he just sat there on a stool, picked his guitar and sang songs, no flash and dash needed. Really made my day, as i'd rather not see Rascal Flatts anyway, but he was damn good at what he did. As to his being classified Country, i wouldn't say so. But good talent is good talent

I wasn't a big Vince Gill fan until I watched his Cross Country with Allison Krauss, I really think they should just release an album together.

Thurs. night was the 6th time my wife and have ween Keith in the last few years and we've never been let down. I knew the Pride of the Southland drum line would be going up on stage and I couldn't wait to see that. I was a little surprised to see Keith come out wearing a Ainge jersey and to top it off he even played Rocky Top.

The show in Nashville the next night was even better. He was on stage almost 3hrs and played a few extra songs. One of the songs was a loooong version of The Joker where he had some band members sings by themselves and brought Gary Allen back on stage. The biggest surprise was Keith bringing Martina McBride on stage to sing Broken Wing.

I plan on seeing Brad Paisley in Feb.
