I'm getting a little tired of it.

I am probably getting ready to get banned from Volnation but I'll take my chances. I have been a member of Volnation for a couple years now. For the most part I have enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and opinions. But I think things are getting out of hand. Here's my problem with Volnation.

Some of the regular posters (Old Timers) think their opinion is the only one that matters. A new member decides to post something that may be contrary to the thoughts of an Old Timer. The Old Timer then starts blasting the new guy as if their opinion has no right to even be posted. The Old Timer then starts demanding that a thread be deleted and the the MODS delete the thread immediately. And it seems that certain OLD Timers can post what ever they want without fear of getting deleted.

I think Volnation is great but the current trend I'm seeing, I'm afraid, will keep people from even bothering to post. I value everyone's opinion and am certainly open for good debate, but just because you may see things differently doesn't mean that the thought isn't valid.

I couldn't agree more.

you could be right, but I see where he is coming from. I've seen many a newer member post an opinion and be laughed almost or completely off the board. Two weeks later that opinion seems like a fairly good opinion, the only problem is that guy is nowhere to be seen anymore. There are a select few who feel they rule the roost and no one can be right but them. I've significantly slowed on my main forum posts the past few weeks for the exact reason.

I think it boils down to the fact that this is one of the wackiest seasons yet and it proves that none of us have any idea what we're talking about. If we did, we would have jobs on the sidelines or at least inside the studio. But few others feel that way. They just change their opinions and consider everyone, including those on VN, the media, and those on the sidelines to be even dumber than originally thought. Keep posting your opinions and if you get blasted, fight back. Then if you do come out to be right, make sure you show off.

Welcome to the internet. I don't mean that as an insult but it's just the way it is. The anonymity on this forum provides many with a place to be more assertive than normal.

I post on other boards and most are much more ruthless than this one. If you have an opinion then state it and back it up. If you say something stupid then be prepared to be called out on it. I truly believe many newbies should read more and get to understand the tone of the board before posting. It would keep some from getting upset. There's also an "ignore" function that is always useful.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read on here in a while. Threads don't get deleted because people demand it. Threads get deleted only if they break the rules of the board, plain and simple.

You have your right to think that but I really think VN does a great job running the board.
The new radio is great as well. They seem to be in it for the people and I love posting here. I've gotten mad before and maybe thought about stopping but haven't seen anything yet to make me stop.
Thats a good thing BTW freak

I also see threads get merged and people think they are deleted.

I joined Vol Nation to talk UT football with people who share my passion. I didn't come here to get in a pissing contest with someone who doesn't see the same way I do.
I think people's personalities reflect easier where thier faces are not seen.

It happens all the time unfortunately. Contrary to popular belief, very very few threads ever get deleted outright . . . and if they are deleted, it's never due to a particular opinion expressed by poster and it is most definitely never because an established poster wants it done.

Anonymity most definitely affects the way some people act. Some can handle it, some can't. That's probably the #1 reason why I avoided message boards prior to this one.
