my $.02 as a non-dog person. EVERY dog owner thinks their dog is the sweetest most wonderful dog that would never hurt a fly. Obviously some of these dog owners are wrong. Pay the lady's bills within reason (if she wants $500 or something tell her to go screw herself). The last thing you need is her calling animal control or something. Not saying your dog was at fault, just realize that maybe you aren't the most unbaised person when it comes to your dog.

She wants around $230. I know my dog isn't the sweetest dog there is but he doesn't go around attacking people & dogs just for the fun of it. I'm sure he would defend himself though.

she says the psychological meds were because her dog was in shock.

Like I said. I WILL NOT pay for psycho bills. Physical damage, sure.

That doesn't mean you can avoid this pissing match by just sitting on your hands. I DEMAND you pay!

Seriously though... if your neigbor came over and demanded you paid to repair his lawn because water was running off from your yard into his, eroding it... you'd just pay up?

So if neighbors come up to you wanting $200 for this and $200 for that, you just fork it over?

Stupid not to have a leash law to start with and if you pay your admitting guilt so.You do need to get a fence or something though. We had a german shepard when I was growing up and for no reason it jumped up on a cow we had and killed it.

We rent so we can't build a fence.

It looks like we're gonna buy a transmitter & collar this weekend. If he gets 90 feet away from the device it will shock him until he comes back. So that will keep him from going into the neighbors yard but if their dogs come over here in my yard & my dog attacks or at the most kills them then there's nothing the neighbors can do, right?

Those shock collars DO NOT work. Your dog will pay zero attention to that thing.

ha ha. no. but he has no idea what his dog did to that neighbors dog. maybe she didn't need to take the dog to the vet, but the fact is she did. i know i'm in the minority here, but GENERALLY people just don't make things up. obviously his dog did something. something worth $200? beats me.
