Top 10 True Freshmen

Towards the bottom of the article. Look who's on the list. Damn, we can recruit! Of course Graig Cooper is also on the list and we should've had him.

uh, Berry was pretty much a legacy and was probably headed to UTK regardless of who the coach is. Glad to see him get national recognistion though.

Talent means nothing with out character. Remember Marcus Vick. Would you want him for a team mate. Every one recruits without looking for the warning signs.

Berry strives to be a dentist. He had around a 3.6 GPA in high school. He's also becoming the leader of this defense. I don't see many character issues.

I'm not talking about Berry, at lot of mistakes in the past have made me wonder what they look at. The list of Vols who have gotten into trouble is too many to name. (from sodomy to every thing else.) Go back a few years and look at the cover up. Not just in TN but every where. Charles Mann couldn't even read or write and had a college degree. Tn may not be that bad, but there is still a lot of character issues if you look deep enough. But hey I know if you look for bad you'll find bad, and if you look for good you'll find good. But don't close either eye when looking.

Berry has good character, and as a previous poster mentioned he wants to be a dentist. Berry takes alot of advice from his father James who has told him (Eric) that he cannot rely on sports forever. Hopefully this means that Eric will be around for all four years instead of skipping to the pros.

If was Dexter Manley. If you're going to take anectdotal evidence and attempt to make a larger point, at least get the example right.

It means a lot more than character without talent.

I haven't heard any thing bad about Berry, i'm impressed with his play. I think he may be the best player we have. I'm just saying some recruits do not have good character. Example, you would win with :
QB:VICK
RB:O.J.
RB:MERCURY MORRIS
WR:T.O
WR:RANDY MOSS
TE:WINSLOW (JR)
OL:TURLEY
OL:NATE NEWTON
OL:CONRAD DOBLER
LB:LT
LB:RAY LEWIS
DT:CHARLES MANN
DB:DEON SANDERS
DB:DEANGELO HALL
RB: RICKY WILLIAMS ETC, ETC. THIS LIST COULD GO ON AND ON. WHY NOT GIVE A CHANCE TO PLAYERS WHO GIVE IT THIER ALL. LIKE: STEVE LARGENT, PEYTON MANNING, CHARLES TILLMAN, REAL ROLE MODELS. INSTEAD OF THUGS. OUR Recruiting is slowing going down. Our record speaks for it self. Fulmer relied heavely on great talent before. Now it's so so, and he can not coach. 4-8 season is coming this year.
