| Anybody have Sirius or XM? do you put your radio up when it's really hot.....like under a seat or somewhere out of the sunlight??
Mine is always about 300 degrees and hurts to touch after being up on my dash for most of the day.
I just don't like fooling with plugging it back up and all everytime I get back in my car.
They need to come out with some sort of sheild or way to shade/hide it

| I work at Best Buy, primarily in the car electronics dept. so I deal with this all day. You should go out and buy an aftermarket dash-mount kit, and here's why:
1. Less likely to get stolen. It's less visible.
2. It will see less sunlight.
These things do NOT react well to the sun; leave it up there too long, and say goodbye to your receiver.

| Clean the suction cup and that part of the windshield with cleaning alcohol.

I don't know if the prices will be the same, because I'm in a different district and territory of Best Buy, but for satellite radios we offer this: For about $100-130 ($30 in parts and $70 in labor, $30 dash bracket if you want it) we mount the radio wherever you want in your car, take an extended receiver antenna and mount that on your car's roof, plug the feed directly into your car's antenna input using a wired FM modulator (read: NOT a wireless FM transmitter), and hardwire the mounting bracket's power to accesory. All the wires are tucked so it will nice and clean. I usually recommend this because the sound quality is improved by about a bazillion percent over a wireless FM transmitter or cassette adapter.
