Depends on your definition of "substantially" and its all a matter of degree. In context of what we are talking about, I always figured Miami to be about 4 trillion years ahead of Tallahassee when it came to social integration.
Gainesville somewhere in the middle, admittedly because there's just nothing else to do there.

You listed those just so I could reminisce, didn't you hat?
Oh, well, I always did like Ginger Lynn a ton better than Amber. |

The proximity to FAMU has always added to that, IMO. I was in grad school for a bit in Tally and, from what I heard, the black players by and large did not socialize much with the white players or FSU community. At least not like they would at U Miami (where racial lines are blurred much more so than in North Florida) or even at University of Florida (with less clearly defined social circles and opportunities). | I only lived in Tally for 2 years but I heard quite a bit about it. There apparently is an underlying current around the program on some level.
As for FAMU, their recent problems have been very much in the public eye over the last year or so. It has honestly been a roller coaster in the media and i'm sure that's not helping anything.
Btw Law, I just moved to WPB 3 weeks ago, could you pass along any good local spots to hang out with the wife and then for football weekends?

I was born and raised in West Palm, but haven't really been down there much on football Saturdays in awhile. There was an Ale House on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., about a quarter mile east of the intersection with Okeechobee, that was very popular for games on Saturdays and Sundays.
Also a place on Village Blvd., not too far from the Ale House, called Gatsby's. In the Publix Center. Seemed popular, as well.
I believe there is a Duffy's in Palm Beach Gardens and another one off of Military Trail out by Century Village. I love their Zingers, but don't know what kind of crowd they get. |

| I heard they got a mean bingo game over at the VFW in Conyers. Watch out for the potato salad though.
I havn't seen Charley there in awhile.
Speaking of that, I stubbed my toe on my grill last week- still got a nick from it.
Hardee's is overrated. |
