Smell: Very malty. Not sweet but a hearty malt. No hop aroma here, just a bready smell, with a hint of nut. I like it.
Taste: Kind of complicated, but really tends to have a caramel and sugary taste (Unlike the smell). The carbonation is a just right, in the middle. I guess that is what makes it taste sweet. No bitterness is present. Malt is definitely present as well, but is well balanced with the rest of the beer. No alcohol can be tasted. (Close to a Sam Adams Boston Ale(Not the Lager), alot of caramel)
Mouthfeel: Very watery and slick. Hardly any aftertaste. It is rather pleasing to the mouth.
Drinkability: This went down really easily for me. Newcastle proves that dark color does not necessarily equal strong flavor. To all the low taste American lager drinkers....give it a try. Ever heard of a session beer???? Well, this is it.
Biggest Con!!!!!!!!! A six pack cost me $9.79. Yeah, I said $9.seventyfreakinnine..... You gotta be kidding me. Next time I have the cash to waste, I won't buy Newcastle. Ouch!!!!! | Yeah, I never claimed it was cheap. Shiner is my cheap beer, which is what I am enjoying now.

| | Junior Member | The trip to Mexico is delayed for a week so the Negra Modelo in Nogales is safe for the nonce...but the Beck's Dark in my fridge is not. |
