| I didn't know you could go inside it. It's an Arc....does the elevator go sideways.
Can an engineer please explain this.

| I'm no engineer, but there are two trams that go to the top of the arch.

Can an engineer please explain this. | The elevator is sort of like a tiny gondola. I'm not an engineer, but I've been up in the arch. It wouldn't be fun to get stuck there. It's cramped. |

| the compartments are incredibly cramped too. When I went up there was 4 people in there and all our knees touched each other we were so close. If you are tall you may have to lean forward because the ceilings are so low in those. I felt miserable in those for like the 10 minutes or so I was on the way up, I'd go crazy being in there trapped. Image:Gateway Arch tram car.JPG - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
thats a picture of one of them

| Well, all things considered... In terms of American landmarks,
Space Needle >>>>>>>>>>> Arch

| Does the Arch have a restaraunt at the top?
Apparantley not. Apparantley, all it has is crappy little boxes.
So, unless they serve unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks from Olive Garden inside them, once again,
Space Needle >>>>>>>>>>>>> Arch

Space Needle >>>>>>>>>>>>> Arch | I can only imagine the disappointment of those that tour the Arch must feel when they get to the top and realize there isn't a restaurant up there.

What is the space needle? |

What is the space needle? | It's kind of a silly argument, but I just enjoyed the space needle more. There's stuff to do up there and you can go outside. In the arch, there's nothing really up there and you're closed in. To each their own I guess. |
