Anyone watch "Sons and Daughters"?
It was a short-run sitcom on one of the networks.

It's partially improvised and doesn't have a laugh track - great show but cancelled after a partial season.

If you like Arrested Development, you'd probably like it (a bit more subtle).

It's shown on Universal HD (was on HD Net) but may be on USA regular.

Extended family with some quirkiness.

I'd say it's a cross between Arrested Development and the style of Best of Show/Spinal Tap/Waiting for Guffman.
