First trip to knoxville where to go

I will be in town next week for a few days at a conference. This will be my first trip to knoxville. I'm looking for ideas about nightlife in knoxville,best spots to go or stay away from. We will be at four points hotel so we are close to the strip and old city. Any ideas of bars or clubs to hit would be greatly appreciated. Will be there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
