Trying to narrow down the list. I've never owned a truck so
I have no experience with any of these models. Any info, insight, recommendations, etc would be helpful. These are the models I'm looking at.

2015 Ford F-150 Crew Cab
2015 Toyota Tundra CrewMax
2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab
2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab

Ford

The dodge depreciates badly. The Toyota is outdated and really bad on gas. Car and driver did a good comparison test of the trucks you're looking at. I'll find you a Link.

This is like asking about guns, golf clubs, or boats.

People have deep, lifelong opinions and will defend them to the death. For every "I had Brand X and it was bulletproof" you'll have someone with "My Brand X was an absolute heap."

Honestly, it's 5 different shades of white. Drive each one and go with what you like.

Yeah I hear ya....I like them all but I'm trying to make as informed decision as I can but for every positive review on each model, I find negative ones too. I figured I would ask here to see if owners had any insight as I'm flying blind...

No problem.

I'm coming at it from my dealership years. I never saw a massive difference, especially when buying new.

How long do you plan on keeping it?

The only thing I'd add is the new F150s have some questions to be answered regarded increased cost/time of repair and potentially increased insurance rates due to the aluminum panels...but I imagine that will be sorted out rather shortly.

If this helps, here's my buying experience for a new truck, albeit from 2004:

Test drove the following:
Toyota Tundra - Truck had a cheap feeling to it.

Chevy Silverado - Rode rough.

Nissan Titan - Kicked a** as far as acceleration but interior looked and felt cheap.

Ford F150 - Slow initial acceleration but good after initial takeoff, large spacious well-crafted interior, smooth solid ride, plenty of room for a big guy. Still driving it in 2015 and glad I made that choice.

If I had to add one more to the list it would have been a GMC, but I didn't test drive one back then.

All in all, it was what best suited the buyer's needs.

One other thing you could do is to go on the forums for each model you are interested in, and read about what are the issues with each model.

My dad looked at all those and decided on the Sierra. It's a beautiful truck and does whatever he needs around the farm

Nerd is a dealer. I'd trust him over most.

I'm not really a truck specialist though. But I appreciate the vote of confidence.

I like the ford for its technological prowess. Ford is pushing what we thought a truck can do. Their dedication to lightness and fuel economy shows that they are dedicated to being the best.

I would recommend driving each. I think the ecoboost has been out for 3-4 years now, so we should have an idea of it's reliability.
