| Hey, totally off topic and I admit I'm sneaking it in here and figure the mods will boot it off shortly (but please give it 20 minutes or so!), one of the benefits of living where I do is I'm a half hour away from Cape Canaveral. If the weather holds up, I'm headed over for launch of the shuttle tonight at 9:30.
Boy is that something. Lights up the sky like its noon and the noise rumbles through your body even though you are 10 miles away. Puts our squabbles about football conferences in perspective, I'll tell you that. |

| Am hearing the launch might not go. Keep an eye out before you head out. I'll just walk out of Ale House tonight and look to the heavens. With all the clouds may not see it though if it does go.
Where do you go to watch?

| I always went to the Shuttle launches when I was stationed in Orlando. Good times going out onto the school's main walk area and watching the shuttle launch in the middle of the night all the way in Orlando.

If I'm just going over to see it on a lark like this, I just drive out SR 528 and park on one of the causeways that go over the intracoastal. When its up, up, and away, I turn around and drive right back. 40 minutes each way and a straight line.
Some people like to go to one of the parks along A1A, but in my experience, for a night launch, it isn't worth dealing with the extra traffic. |

| If you take a few minutes a day you can find tons of things that put football squabbles into perspective...laughing child, affectionate puppy, the mini-skirt.

| One of my favorite things to do is tune in on the net to the NASA live video feed. Watching it right now. They are showing all the people scurrying around in "Firing Room Four" getting ready to launch in 5 hours.
Very cool. |

Very cool. | Could you supply me with a link LG? No matter how many times I see one, I am always fascinated by them. Wish I could be there to see it in person. Maybe one of these days.

| How cool is a night launch?? I can't wait. I saw the Discovery launch a long time ago when I was young.

| bUMP.
They have cloud cover right now. Holding at 5 minutes to launch until they determine if it is still a go.
Keep your fingers crossed for a launch.
