Who has/had t-mobile and what was your general experience?

I'm thinking of switching from Verizon so I can get out my contract (t-mobile will pay) and get the new iPhone 6.

Will save me about 10-15/month over 2 years to switch and I'm trying to decide if that is worth switching for.

I have a second line that is t-mobile. Their LTE is extremely fast in my area and wifi calling is a nice feature. My only issue is their coverage is spotty compared to AT&T and Verizon.

It's 10-15 a month off AND not having to drop $200 plus fees every time you upgrade.

That said, coverage won't be as good. I switched in February from att. Everything in the Portland area is fine, but when I go to the coast or out east it gets pretty poor. Generally, T Mobile works fine in metro areas, while rural coverage is poor/non-existant.

See if anybody you know has them and ask about it.

You think it's worth 10 to 15/month to jump carriers?

Is this really about a few dollars a month or about getting the iphone 6? :)

Like Milo said, you might ask around about the coverage. That's the only issue I see.

You won't truly know until you make the plunge. Some on here say AT&T sucks yet I haven't been anywhere unless it was extreme boonies or mountains where I didn't get great coverage. When I go to East Tennessee my coverage is fine. In upstate SC it's fine. I have gotten coverage in areas where Verizon got nothing.

Do their test drive offer.

I'm thinking about switching myself to save money.

If I stay with Verizon I have to pony up for the new iPhone but finish out my existing contract. My current phone is worth about $300 - 350 so I can cover about half the cost of the phone.

If I switch to T-mobile they'll pay the early termination fees. Plans are roughly equivalent so the ETF is what makes the difference.

I could also switch to someone like ATT. Selling my phone would cover the ETF and I could hop on a regular subsidized contract.

Anyway I slice it T-mobile saves me some bucks but it's the unknown coverage issues that make me concerned.

I do plan to get a iPhone 6 plus - the question is how do I ease the pain.

As for plans, all I need is a single line, unlimited talk, text and 2GB data.

I have T-Mobile and it's ok for me. Service (around the Memphis area) is great, but in Tunica (Casinos) SUCKS. One good thing I will say about T-mobile is the customer service is really good, always takes care of any and all problems I have ever had with just 1 phone call. But, I had AT&T before T-Mobile and the coverage was better with AT&T overall.

I went from Verizon to AT&T(got out of my ETFs) a couple of months ago. I just went back to Verizon. Verizon's coverage is by far better than AT&Ts. There were far fewer places where AT&T were better(a few spots here in AK, but Verizon just got up here). I pay about $40 more for Verizon but as much as I travel/move around the coverage is worth it to me.

I've heard nothing but great things about T-Mobile's customer service. Wish I could say the same for Verizon. AT&T has way better customer service than Verizon.

I've been a T-Mobile customer for 14 years. My cell reception for my phones are very good along the interstates and most major roads. Your reception is shakey in some of the more remote areas. You will not beat their rates and their customer service is very good.

My only gripe with them is that their data coverage is not as good as I would like it to be. However, I use my phone as a phone, so what they give me is optimum.

The drive from entering the US(at Montana) to Georgia was way better coverage with Verizon than AT&T. I had almost ZERO service with AT&T in a lot of places.

In the southeast & up the east coast to include Ohio I have never had an issue. I can't speak for out west.

AT&T isn't horrible, just not as good.

In Savannah, my wife would lose signal completely in one part of the mall with AT&T.

About 80% of your drive would have been through the swath of the country where Verizon is the only carrier that works. ATT is roughly equivalent on both coasts and in the south.

And +1 for their customer service. Verizon is pretty much the biggest PITA I deal with. ATT and sprint are bad too but not as bad. T Mobile does what I need them to do every time with the first call, pretty much without fail.

T Mobile sucks for coverage. I had the same call dropped three times in a five mile stretch...in the OKC METRO AREA! They are primarily a urban based company with ****ty coverage outside of anything that says "city limits." I'm getting ready to drop them for another network because I have a friend that lives off a dirt road that gets 4G service while I can barely get basic service.

You pay for what you get, caveat emptor, etc.

Depends where you are. Down here coverage is terrible. I've known many people who had to switch due to never getting service.

I was a long time iPhone user and am still a Mac user. I just haven't warmed up to the Android world.

No complaints per se about the G3. If you want to buy a Verizon one off contract we can talk :)

It is funny that I have an iMac at home and an iPad for the road. However, I prefer the android phones.

I guess that began because I wanted to be able to play with my phone and you could improve your androids.

I hear ya. I'm just not a customizer so that advantage of Android doesn't add value for me.

The only thing I've liked better is the keyboard that came with LG G3 has some version of swipe capabilities. I do like that.

IOS 8 allows for third party keyboards now. I've been using swiftkey and really like it.
