As I understood the settlement, the company will not be prosecuted. This does not affect the individual investigations into Haslam and other managers.

ESPN specifically said Haslam's wldnt be prosecuted but they could go after others. I may have misunderstood though.

Have you been following this from the start? Did you read any of the documentation from the investigation? There are laws in this country regarding interstate fraud. And, Haslam isn't out of the woods yet. The agreement also expressly states that it provides no protection from prosecution to any individual, and moreover, imposes a continuing obligation on Pilot to provide complete cooperation with the ongoing federal investigation of current and former Pilot employees relating to fraudulent conduct involving the sale of diesel fuel.

Terrific rant.

Can you cite the monetary damage incurred by the federal government and in turn the amount now required of Pilot to be paid to these useless thugs?

They broke the law and they are now paying. Read up on the law and the charges. If your intent is to defend the Haslams, fine. Apparently they have agreed that they did wrong and are going to pay the fine.

I never defended the Haslams and don't need to read up on the charges. People wih guns to their heads usually agree the gun holder is correct.

Great defense.

Well. Looks like the gun to the head folks had a lot of evidence to prosecute further. The feds could have done a lot more damage to them and seemed to have backed off for some reason. Who knows?

The true criminals made out like bandits here. Not sure how Pilot fared.

So there should be no punishment for companies breaking the law? Get off your anti-government soapbox just long enough to realize what you're arguing.
