Flag Stomping Could Cost South Carolina Teacher His Job - ABC News

I think maybe this guy lost it that day. If he had been "exemplary twelve-year teaching career and was only trying to create a forum for discussion using a powerful symbol with which all his students would be familiar.”. Why pick stomping on the American flag as a way to create a forum for discussion? Why not talk about it but not actually do it?? Not sure the thought process behind this.
