What sacrifices did the mother make? She sent Gabby to live at the training camp, which actually enabled her to then spend more time and energy on the other kids. Now, if she had quit her job, moved her family, worked a couple of jobs in the new place etc, then we can say she sacrificed.

Seems like Gabby sacrificed the most followed by her oft deployed military father.

I have no idea. I am just telling you what I have seen on tv. I really don't care enough to look into it. I also didn't automatically assume that he was a dead beat.

Granted I haven't watched every minute of coverage about her and honestly tune out some when competition isn't on, but it is odd they don't play up the military dad story more. I'm sure he has helped fund her gymnastics career.

The prime time coverage of the Olympics has been awful anyways. They show more commericals than they actually show the events. So it wouldn't surprise me if they left out the dad to boost ratings a little more.
