| | Renaissance Man | New Grill I just picked up a Kamado Kooker by Ghar-Griller at Kroger on season-end closeout at $197. I had my eye on it at $249, and checked reviews that turned out to be quite impressive for the price. When I found it marked down, it was an easy choice.
Cooked pork chops tonight after simple assembly and seasoning of the cast iron grate. Phenomenal. I used lump coal and apple wood chips, a little ground mustard marinade and habenero-mango BBQ. It seemed to heat and cook identical to an Egg at a fraction of the price.
Next up: picking up a pizza/smoking stone and getting ready to do my first shoulder for a football game. Char-Griller Kamado Kooker - Kamado and Pellet Grills at Grills Direct |

| | Volmeister extraordinaire | Doesn't look like you can put much meat on the grill. |

| | Renaissance Man | It's a good family-size. I think 3-4 racks or a nice sized shoulder or butt will fit easily. |

| Nice looking grill.
Rookie question here: Are you using the stone to do the shoulder? I've never used one so I was curious to know if it makes that much of a difference. |

They had a metal outer coat, think it may be lined with ceramic.
I've been given the green light to get a BGE when I get the promotion I was promised, now just waiting on the promotion LOL.

I have a BGE, and it's a pain to use for routine crap, so I only use it on rare occasions. Money better spent on high end gas grill that you use routinely. |
