I was on the Gulf. 8 oz is huge but i bet it holds good. 4 oz held pretty good. Keep an eye peeled for stingrays. I had a big one come up and investigate me while I was out casting a spoon. I had to jab him with the end of the rod to get him to go away but he just circled around and came back. At that point, I left and got me a cold one on the beach. No need to pull a Crocodile Hunter.

I usually run two or three but I have a son to help drag things in if needed.

Seaweed was an issue but no catfish at all except for one that got tangled.

DO NOT keep bait in your pocket.

Tides seemed to make a difference in fish activity. However, all three sharks I caught were at just random times - just get the bait into the deeper blue water beyond the second sand bar.

My favorite is hitting a very early high tide, but low tide always makes it easy to wade out to a sandbar.

Yeah it was a heck of a fight. Thing was really worn out by the time I released it. I caught it in about 4 ft of water with a bottom rig.

It inhaled the bait, and so the hook was set really deep and I couldn't get it out. Even w my pliers. So I snipped the line off the hook and let it go

Didn't have a camera on hand. We were fishing from a sandbar and were pretty far away from our bags. Really pissed at myself

We're going back to the same spot this evening and tomorrow morning to fish, maybe well catch another one.
