Btw I'm pretty sure "who cares" is basically covered in the 3rd option. |

I learned a few years back to not do that stuff anymore, because it does me no good to concern myself with it. That's why I posted what I did. So, you can take your X, and go home.

Don't know exactly when they started handicap parking but I guarantee my grand pa's generation didn't/would'nt have abused handicap parking. They would've left those spots for the ones that were truly incapable of walking a distance inside. That generation didn't have this ridiculous sense of entitlement that people do now.
Also I just thought your post was silly.
A. You obviously cared at least a little. Otherwise you wouldn't have bothered posting.
B. I feel who cares basically was an option. I seriously doubt that anybody who picked option 3 actually supports the misuse of handicap parking. The probably just don't care. |

I figure if I'm within 75 yards of the building I'll be ok. |

I would rather just park and walk, because I will more than likely be inside, before I find the best parking spot available on the lot.

| problem is that the OP (as well as many others rightfully think) see this as a black and white issue: you're either handicapped and cannot walk long distances or you're not handicapped and can walk therefore dont need to park close. Its actually more grey than black and white. Only reason I know is that I was recentally used a handicapped tag. Back in November I was given the application from my doctor to receive a temporary handicap placard due to a knee injury. My surgery wasnt until December so I had if for a whole month before I was actually "down". Was I completely handicapped? no but walking was difficult especially for long distances so it helped. I had the surgery and went thru PT. Things started getting improving as time went on but still needed that little help parking nearer to the door. It expired in April and by that time I was able to walk farther but it wasnt fun. Having to park far away wasnt an option but there was nothing I could do at that point.
What I did learn from using one is that people abuse the placards (as most people know) and worse of all there is no system in place to check on their validitiy. The temp placards have an actual experation date but no one bothers to look at it. Also, there is no system to stop someone from just giving their placard to someone else without penalty. Like most govermental programs, the intent of the law is great its implementation sucks and relies on people actually being honest, which never happens. |

I have no problem asking why someone who obviously has no physical disability feels he's entitled to park in a spot reserved for someone who does while the rest of us haul an infant and 5 year old through 105 degree weather from the back of the parking lot. |

Sounds like you just want to be upset about that, and take it on a someone you don't know, and question why they are parking in a handicapped spot. I'm not trying to sound difficult about it, but that's just how it sounds.

| | Bring back post junkies!! | I would like to add that being a fat ass doesn't entitle you to a handicap parking space. It actually be mandated than anyone who qualifies as obese have to park in the farthest available parking space from the building. |
