Indeed. That's one of the main purposes.

While waging war with the stump, you can debate deep philosophical questions - with yourself, do all kinds of calculations, figure out answers that have eluded you and come up with all kinds of new and better ideas.

And then, when you get thru with the stump, you don't have to worry about any of this because you are so tired you forget it all.

Yes, I'll post pictures.
Almost 4 months. Update?

I have a friend that asked me how I would suggest to remove two stumps in his yard. I remembered this thread.

I've got one now to take care of...
Once I get motivated, I'm going to try the salt

It takes motivation to drill a hole and pour some salt?

I'll update every couple of weeks. One of the artickes I read said it could take a couple of months...

I filled the holes with Epsom Salt, added water, then topped them off again with more salt.

The holes are 4-5 inches deep..

Cool. Don't forget about this thread. I have a stump in my front yard I need to get rid of, but I'm not too worried about it.

I think someone mentioned you need to cap the holes with something, like cork, or caulk, I guess so the rain doesn't wash out the salt?

You can just dig the caulk out.
