Obviously because the more he knows the more likely to get that next promotion. They certainly won't use this in any sort termination action.

This. much ado about nothing.

There are a lot of companies that already track employees locations. I.e. my friend at ADT can track all of his technicians at any given time. This technology just keeps companies from having to buy separate equipment.

when you're off work leave your company phone at home. Easy solution.
