I'm considering giving up my car and buying another bike or two, that'll be a step in that direction. I don't have a TV or microwave. My phone is about the only electronic I own (that is operational). Don't know if I could quite function without my cell phone.

Romans had indoor plumbing, we need to define techology. If the answer is just electricity, then there is still a lot we can do without it.
Also, I'm presuming I would still have access to knowledge.

One of the reasons I love hiking is to get away from a lot of the noise and learn more about how to live a simpler life. But, even without electricity, plumbing and modern appliances we could get by pretty well. I'm thinking Swiss Family Robinson style living something like this:
