| When do you merge?? If you're driving down the interstate and signs indicate a lane is closed ahead, do you start getting over early or do you go all the way up to the merge?
People have strong emotions about this. I've been yelled at, cussed at, flicked off and nearly run off the road for driving all the way up to the merge. But most of the people I know do the same thing.
On 75 I thought I was going to get squashed when a big rig pulled over on me to keep me from passing. I could have murdered that bastard
What say you? |

| The road isn't closed, so it's free to be driven down until it is |

| | Bleating Minion | Sometimes I'm early, sometimes I'm late. I'm sort of bi-merginal that way.
I drive 30,000+ miles a year and it never ceases to amaze me how early mergers think they have a God given right to the lane. If everybody would just let a car in rather than pull up for spite, traffic jams wouldn't last as long. |

| I go as early as possible, not cutting people off or whatnot, but I get into the lane as soon as its safely possible. |

| | Rational Thought Allowed? | If you get over immediately, other cars do not have to slow down nearly as much and/or stop to let you in; thus, traffic flows better if everyone gets over immediately. You might object that you are not concerned about the flow of traffic or the timetables of others but simply concerned with your own timetable; however, if the individuals who had already gotten over adopted your same attitude, then they would never let you in (in fact, this is the precise reason why I do not let individuals merge into my lane at the last moment but instead ride the bumper of the car in front of me).

| The drivers who hate it the most are truck drivers. I wonder what MG's opinion is on this matter |

| There are signs probably 10 miles ahead of the merge for the closure on I-75 south. Should drivers all file into the left lane 10 miles out and get stuck behind trucks going 50mph? |
