Slavery is a bad part of history we can all agree. But black or white it hasn't affected anybody that's still living. Discrimination is something totally different & will always exist & it doesn't matter what color you are. For the most part the majority of everyone can say they believe in equal rights for all. How many really mean it though? Ask a black person & then a white person if they believe in affirmative action. You will probably get two different answers & it will be ironic that both believe in equal rights but the one who has fought most for those rights want special favoritism based on of all things skin color. | We just have two completely different schools of thought. To be honest, I saw a pretty brutal fight when I was at work one night. It was more disturbing than anything to see this guy getting his head stomped on to the concrete. I've just become a more peaceful advocate since that experience. I know that sounds totally wuss, but whatever, it happened. |

| I'm calling for an immediate boycott to the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou. It is deliberately invoking images of slavery through the use of prisoners in shackles.
Where is Al Sharpton?

In my mind, I can imagine offering a pair to a black person and they may respond with something like, "no thanks, those shackles would make me look like a slave." I'm sure that wouldn't be everyone's response, but I wish I knew if they would make that connection if you don't suggest it....hmmm |
