| If it fits the elements of a hate crime it should be treated as such. Hate crimes should apply equally for all races, and I have no reason to think it will be treated differently.
I hope the victim makes a speedy recovery and justice is served.

I'd bet they had previous altercations that escalated.

I don't believe two black teens did this, this is too reminiscent of stories that people make up to hide the truth, like that nutcase who threw acid all over her own face and claimed some black women did it - this kid was either messing with gasoline and a lighter after he'd been told not to and burned himself and was afraid to admit it, or some similar story.
