| One that comes to mind is Matt Leinart, but maybe that's just my opinion based on the fact that I have an LA buddy who always reps USC.
I just always heard he was the best ever. |

He just made some bad decisions that ruined his career. You are describing a bust. There is a difference. Also when you respond to my posts, i'll respect your opinions alot more if you come back with statements and not smart ass questions. Fwiw.

A few highlights does not a great player make. Hell, how many great (and I do mean GREAT) players never even had a chance to play in a SB. Off the top of my head how many RB's played in a SB but were better than Barry Sanders or Earl Campbell? Few? Any? (We could dedicate a whole thread to great players who never made a SB/Final Four/World Series/etc)
C'mon man, I get the "big stage playmaker" argument but the guy's career seasonal average was 37c/607yds/6td's. Swann most certainly didn't suck. I even like the fact he was local. (Alcoa) But when he gets his name dropped like he's one of the all-timers at the position by some I simply find it bewildering. | Tyree played in one super bowl and had one outstanding play. Comparing what he did to Swann is ludicrous. Swann also, played in a run first offense. The Steeler didn't exactly throw the ball around. Bradshaw would throw one up from time to time and Swann would go get it more times than not. Times were different then. You must be young. |

Not many receivers that played could consistently catch the balls that he could go get. That's why he is a hall of famer. Stats don't always tell the story and that's what you have to realize. |

I caught the last half of the 30 for 30 documentary on him and it seemed kinda sad that a dude THAT good didn't make it.... |

| Collegiate steroids in the 80s created a lot of overhyping

Oden was hyped alongside Durant. We know the rest of the story. |
