Doesn't mean its the best OS (far from). Android was also available on more carriers for longer, including a year head start on the largest carrier, Verizon. Smart on googles part to increase the rate of diffusion. But just like Windows that doesn't mean it's the better mobile OS.

If you look up individual device sells the iPhone holds the top three spots (to be fair AT&T does give the 3GS away free now). In fact, it sells itself so well that Verizon is restructuring the commission to their sales staff to lead people to 4G devices instead. And considering it only has 3 devices on the market compared to Androids 3 dozen or so yet still holds over a third of the OS market share is impressive. Does that make it the best OS? As this thread proves that is debatable.
Woah slow down there. I'll agree with the apple stuff on phones. But apple cannot even touch Microsoft when it comes to PCs. Anyone who is serious about computers (aka computer geeks like me) - would be brain dead if they got a Mac over a PC.

This is really a different topic so I'll just add this and move on.

Most of the hardcore computer geeks I know only "prefer" Windows because they either 1) like to build their computers themselves obviously Apple doesn't let you do that 2) are hardcore gamers and most are exclusive to Windows or 3) all of the above. Then they still complain about current Windows versions and long for the days of the 14 year old XP. Plus, and I'm generalizing, they don't even try OSX.

It took me all of a week to get used to OSX over Windows. Now I just get frustrated when I have to use a Windows machine. And I dont miss the constant updates and ensuing glitches of Windows either. OSX runs so much smoother and navigation is more intuitive.

And to stay on topic, the compatibility with my iphone is unbeatable.

Windows 7 is great. I don't long for XP. Vista was a different story. But I skipped over it for that reason.

Not only the things you listed above but I can build my own computer, make it much faster, and over clock it to insane speeds with just the click of a button. And since you can build your own you save at least $1000 and still get a faster machine. Macs can always boot camp and play windows games (my friend does that fine on his) - so that's not really one of the big reasons for me.

Yes? The new bios's are simple and you literally click one button for my asus MB. You obviously need an aftermarket cooler and mine is liquid cooled. Runs at 4.5 ghz.

they've always been simple but getting the right mix is the hard part. Not to mention all the time spent to make sure it's stable.

if you're that into oc'ing shouldn't you have a droid? Can you oc an iphone?

I don't really see the need to do that to a phone. I don't really use it that heavily to warrant ocing a phone.

And the MB was pretty much designed for those who want to OC ( I think most higher end MBs are that way now) so basically all you need to do is set the desired ghz number and have good cooling system and you're good to go.

Update on iTunes Match.

At home on wi-fi it works great. Its nice to take my phone or iPad from room to room and play music or even while mowing the yard (my wi-fi is pretty strong). However, on 3G it is very choppy unless you are listening to songs you have already streamed before. If you decide to play something random it takes a minute to start playing, which is understandable, but then it will stop about 20 seconds in to buffer, then again a few seconds later. Since I paid for the service to listen mainly in my car this is disappointing. As of now I'm not sure I will renew the service next year.

Just wondering what network you're on & what type of data speeds you get in your area.

I'm on verizon and in the middle of Johnson City. The speedtest.net app clocks my wi-fi at 12mbps and my 3G at .09mbps which is ridiculous for $30/month.

It's a noticable difference from my wi-fi but just browsing it doesn't seem THAT slow. Waiting for video to load is frustrating at times and I usually just wait till I'm on wi-fi. It's really been a non issue fore until this iTunes Match thing.

I won't be eligible for an upgrade until the 5s comes out but hopefully the rumors of LTE are true. It seems unlikely Apple will stick with 3G only since the new iPad is LTE.

I dont think you are getting the real 3G speed, because .09mbps is terrible.

If that's your real 3G speed then that's your problem.

^^^Bingo

I live in JC and (even though I'm usually on 4G or WiFi) my 3G speed is nowhere near that bad.
