And as for the picture, all I'll say is to keep working. Work often. Learn and understand what the Photoshop tools do. Oh, and have fun. Use tutorials. Search for forums that focus on sports graphics.

Good luck! | Everything that he said, but also, use a different font, or a darker color (black with orange trim).
That orange is hard to see. Or maybe use a filter and make the background orange, and use white lettering.
So far it's good for a first try, just a different font would be better  .

| Get some photos of players facing to the left. You can vertically invert them, but their numbers will be backwards. | |

| Thanks for the helpful hints guys!  I think I found a hobby I enjoy. If anyone has any ideas for a little project I can do that'd be fun. I made this one, with some tips from earlier. | |
