He got fed up.

Tailgaters should be shot, and then taught how to drive, and then shot again.
cops here have said that you would be in the wrong for brake-checking people. I don't get it.

Could be a tough one to prove in court. You could always say I hit the brakes because a small child was running toward the street in his/her yard.

Drive with the flow of traffic and get over when others want to pass and your tailgating issues will be greatly reduced.

Upon first reading this, I became angry because Tailgaters is the name of my fantasy football Dynasty, and it is also my favorite hobby. However, once I realized you were referring to driving instead of, well, tailgating, I completely agree with your stance.

My post also reminds me of another candidate for a face punch. You know the Tailgaters who "over achieve" at games? Like the ones who:

* bring 45 tents
* have 24 flags attached to their vehicles
* bring satellites and flat screen TV's to set up
* bring electric blankets
* Upon listening to them, have no real knowledge of football, they just think its cool to look awesome
* Actually join in a circle and put hands in while some fat ass gives a pep talk about the game

I have to put up with this every home game during the Titans season, and I want to punch them in the face, women included. Coolers, Grills, Music and Cornhole tables, thats enough for any solid tailgate.

FTR, I'm not a slow driver. When I encounter slow drivers, I still don't follow them too closely, or whatever you want to call it. It's disrespectful and yields nothing, except the occasional brake-check. If you do it, it's because you don't know how to drive.

I was with my bro-in-law, a terrible close-follower, and we were behind a lady who was flying. He probably wasn't a foot off her bumper. I would tell him, "dude, get off her tail"...and he would explain that he's not on her tail, "there's plenty of distance." Finally, she'd had enough and she locked them up. She then pulled over and let us pass her, disgruntled. He said, "I don't know what HER problem was". Idiocy.

Just thinking about the first home game gets me cranky. Next one of their kids that run over to our tailgate and jump on the cornhole boards or steal the bags, I'm gonna punch right in the spine.

However, on another note, watching the Mavericks house the Lakers two straight games at home has certainly lifts my spirits.

It's the passing lane, not the "I'm doing the speed limit so you have to go around me" lane. That being said, people who tailgate then slow down when you try to let them pass are morons.

Seriously, people got places to go. Just because you are in the fast lane and ahead of someone, doesnt make you "king" of that lane. Just move over and it will save everyone time/money/sanity

When I get tailgated driving slow due to following a slow vehicle, I usually brake check. I give them a short one first to give them a hint, but if they persist, I increase the severity of my deceleration. The killer is to drop it down into 2nd gear and pop the clutch so there are no brake lights. Usually gets an immediate response.

If I'm moving at a fast pace and get tailgated, I will usually lift once or twice to try to get them to back off. If they still do it, I'll pull over and get on their bumper for a few minutes.

it boggles my mind why people care what someone is doing behind them.

Fine with me, just be prepared to go fast

Sorry to hijack a thread, but I have to point out to people who drive like 16 y/o girls

I love the person who is in the fast lane that's just ahead of the car to his right & going the same speed.
